The China Laos Thailand Railway Logistics Tourism Promotion Conference was recently held in Kongjing, Thailand, an important node city of the China Laos Thailand Railway. Nearly 300 representatives from China, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia and other countries attended the conference. The conference is hosted by the Chinese Consulate General in Kongjing, co organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Yunnan Provincial People's Government, and organized by the Mekong College of Thailand. In December 2021, the China Laos Railway will be officially opened to traffic, and in July 2022, the China Laos Thailand Railway will be put into use for direct transportation. After years of cooperation, China, Laos, and Thailand have established a foundation for cross-border railway connectivity. All parties present believe that it is necessary to accelerate the construction of the China Thailand railway, speed up the construction of the China Thailand railway and the Laos Thailand connecting line, increase the number of international trains, and promote smooth trade along the line. At the same time, relying on the China Laos Railway and the China Thailand Railway, we will build new models such as the "Lancang Mekong Express", the "China Laos Railway+China Europe Train", and build a new international logistics channel with high efficiency, low cost, and excellent service. At the conference, Sihala, General Manager of the National Railway Company of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, stated that the opening of the Laos China Railway has brought huge benefits to Laos and has become a key driving force for its economic transformation. Zha Jiapeng, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, said that the Thailand China Laos Railway is not only a transportation artery, but also a tourism artery, which will drive the development of tourism along the line and promote economic integration through personnel exchanges. Su Liyan, president of Thailand's Mekong University, told reporters that the Thailand China Old Railway will connect logistics, tourism, health care, creative services and other emerging industries, so that the railway will stimulate more economic development opportunities and benefit the people along the line.
