Recently, the press conference for the 12th Silk Road International Film Festival was held in Beijing. The reporter learned that this year's film festival will be held in Fuzhou, Fujian from September 22nd to 26th with the theme of "Silk Road connects the world, light and shadow shine in the capital of Fujian". At the press conference, Huang Yiqun, Deputy Minister of the Propaganda Department of the Fujian Provincial Party Committee, introduced that this year's film festival further highlights international exchange and cooperation. In terms of film collection, more than 3500 participating and exhibited films were collected, covering 135 countries and regions. 100 selected films will be screened, covering 44 countries and regions such as Russia and France. From September 20th to October 8th, more than 200 screenings will be arranged in 17 cinemas in Fujian Province. At the same time, city square screenings and post screening meetings will be held to create diverse screening scenarios and promote high-quality film resources to reach grassroots and the public. At the same time, using movies as a medium, this year's film festival will invest over 10 million yuan in benefiting the people, hold a consumption season, launch film and television themed tourism routes, plan and carry out carnival, "ticket economy", "intangible cultural heritage+cultural tourism" and other beneficial activities, build a cultural and business tourism integration ecology of "cultural empowerment, tourism drainage, and consumption quality improvement", and truly realize the "feast of movies and festival of the people". The launching ceremony of this year's film festival will be held on September 22 at the Fuzhou Strait Culture and Arts Center. Through a series of artistic programs showcasing the customs of the Maritime Silk Road, cross-strait friendship, and Fujian culture, the festival will express its warmest welcome to guests from all over the world, convey the fullest enthusiasm of the people of Fujian and Fuzhou, and kick off the grand opening of the film festival. The "Golden Road Award" of this year's film festival has attracted over 2800 films from 125 countries to participate. The jury is composed of 13 renowned filmmakers from 7 countries including China, Belgium, Italy, Poland, the United States, France, and Indonesia, with Chen Kaige, a famous Chinese director, serving as the chairman of the jury.
