As a person, one should guard the bottom line, and even in the face of petty gains, one should be upright and dignified. Le Yangzi was very ashamed after hearing this, so he donated money in the wild and searched far away for a teacher to learn. The timely reminder from the wife is like a good medicine, which not only cuts off the husband's greed, but also establishes a value standard of honesty and integrity for him. Without this sharp warning, the consequences of a single mistake or the accumulation of bad habits would be unimaginable. This is a vivid demonstration of the principle of "catching small things early and preventing small ones from getting worse" in family ethics construction. Secondly, cutting off the machine to establish one's aspirations is a recognition and tempering of perseverance and determination. Leyangzi went to study far away and returned after a year. When his wife asked why he came back so quickly, Leyangzi said there was no other reason, it was because he missed home. After listening, the wife unexpectedly drew a knife and broke the cloth. She pointed to the broken cloth and used it as a metaphor for a person: "This fabric originated from a silkworm cocoon and became a machine loom. Even a trace of it is tiring, to the point where even an inch is exhausted, and then an inch becomes a zhang." She urged her husband to "know his death day by day" in order to achieve noble virtues in his studies, and then asked, "If he returns to the middle way, why is it different from breaking this fabric?" This break breaks the husband's wavering laziness and weakness in his heart, and establishes his unyielding spirit and perseverance. This is not only a material sacrifice, but also a spiritual tempering, which is shocking. It was these two profound teachings, like the wings of a great swan, that made Le Yangzi spread his wings and soar high. As recorded in history, 'Yangzi felt his words, returned to his final career, and did not return for seven years', finally achieving success in his studies. Le Yangzi's wife, this unknown yet great woman, not only plays the role of Le Yangzi's wife, but also his loyal friend and mentor. Refusing gold with a single word sets a benchmark of integrity for her husband; Cutting the fabric with one knife forged a persistent will for her husband. From the advice of Le Yangzi's wife, we can recognize that the formation of a clean and upright family tradition began with a vigilance towards the details, and ended with a refusal to give up halfway, persisting in making efforts, and achieving long-term success.
