In order to thoroughly implement the "Opinions on Strengthening Procuratorial Technical Work in the New Era" and effectively strengthen the specialized review of technical evidence by procuratorial organs, the Supreme People's Procuratorate recently released a batch of typical cases of prosecutorial technical support for criminal prosecutorial technical evidence review. It is reported that in April of this year, the Technical Information Research Center of the Supreme People's Procuratorate issued a notice to collect typical cases and received a total of 68 cases. After five months of preliminary selection, expert selection, and selection by the Professional Technical Committee of the Supreme People's Procuratorate Technical Information Research Center, six typical cases were finally selected. Typical cases include: the theft case of Mr. Shi handled by the Beijing Municipal Procuratorate and Tongzhou District Procuratorate, the intentional homicide case of Mr. Wang handled by the Zhejiang Provincial Procuratorate, Wenzhou Municipal Procuratorate, and Ningbo Municipal Procuratorate, the environmental pollution case of Mr. Shen and 8 others handled by the Fengfeng Mining District Procuratorate in Handan City, Hebei Province, the abuse of power case of Mr. Wang handled by the Jiangsu Provincial Procuratorate, Lianyungang Municipal Procuratorate, and Lianyungang District Procuratorate, the intentional homicide case of Mr. Li handled by the Shandong Provincial Procuratorate, Heze Municipal Procuratorate, and Cao County Procuratorate, and the community correction supervision case of Mr. Li handled by the Liaoning Provincial Procuratorate and Shenyang Municipal Procuratorate. The reporter learned that the focus of this typical case selection is on "collaboration between superiors and subordinates, multi-disciplinary cooperation, and the essence of technical case handling elements". The selected typical cases cover multiple categories of prosecutorial technical specialties such as forensic medicine, physical evidence, audio-visual materials, electronic evidence, and environmental damage. For example, in the theft case of Mr. Shi, the prosecuting technicians found missing criminal clues by comprehensively sorting and analyzing the massive electronic data involved. In the intentional homicide case of Wang, forensic pathology and psychological testing techniques worked together, and the prosecution technicians highly restored the crime scene of the murder case. In the case of Shen and 8 others polluting the environment, the prosecuting technicians used their professional skills in environmental damage to conduct a special review of the identification methods and classification of hazardous waste. The relevant person in charge of the Supreme People's Procuratorate Technical Information Research Center stated that the release of these typical cases is a specific measure to implement the work deployment of the "Opinions on Strengthening Procuratorial Technical Work in the New Era".
