According to the Macau SAR Public Security Police Department, as of 23:00 on October 2, the cumulative number of inbound tourists to Macau in 2025 has reached 30 million, which is 40 days earlier than last year and similar to the same period in 2019. Among them, mainland tourists accounted for 72.8%, while Hong Kong, Taiwan, and foreign tourists accounted for 18.4%, 2.4%, and 6.4% respectively. At present, during the National Day holiday in mainland China, the number of people entering and leaving Australia reached 673000 on October 1st, an increase of 8.5% year-on-year. On October 1st, there were over 140000 visitors to Australia, a year-on-year increase of 1.8%. On October 2nd, there were over 163000 people. The peak passenger flow is expected to occur on October 3rd and 4th. To this end, various ports in Macau have strengthened police deployment and formulated crowd control plans. During peak hours, the Macau Public Security Police, Macau Customs, Zhuhai Border Inspection Station, and Hong Kong Immigration Department will work together to timely open channels to divert passenger flow. The relevant departments continue to monitor the passenger flow of tourist hotspots such as Xinma Road, Da San Ba, Taipa Old Town, and Jinguang Avenue, and implement crowd control measures in a timely manner to provide safety guarantees for citizens and tourists. It is reported that in order to cope with the continuous growth of customs clearance passenger flow, the Macao Special Administrative Region has launched multiple convenient customs clearance measures since the beginning of this year, including expanding the applicable population of the "cooperative inspection self-service channel", opening up iris clearance for eligible Hong Kong permanent residents, allowing eligible foreigners to pass through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge without getting off, and expanding the number of foreign tourists who can register to use the traditional self-service channel in Macao to 9 countries. These measures provide a convenient customs clearance experience for more tourists. The relevant person in charge of the Macau SAR Public Security Police Department revealed that they are currently working with mainland border inspection departments to promote the construction of a "no need to show documents" self-service travel inspection channel at Hengqin Port, striving to put it into use in the fourth quarter. And we will continue to strengthen technological empowerment and regional cooperation, create more convenient customs clearance measures, continuously improve customs clearance efficiency, help Macao strengthen internal and external communication, and create a higher-level platform for opening up to the outside world.
