The 24th International Cave Science Expedition was launched on October 11th in Shuanghe Cave, Suiyang County, Guizhou Province, known as the "longest cave in Asia". This scientific expedition will last from the 11th to the 31st. Researchers are conducting scientific investigations in Shuanghedong, Suiyang County, Guizhou Province. According to Zhou Wenlong, Deputy Director of Guizhou Mountain Resources Research Institute, an international cave exploration team composed of experts from Guizhou Mountain Resources Research Institute, Guizhou Cave Association, and French Cave Alliance will conduct a systematic scientific investigation of the Shuanghe Cave Group, including the exploration of the unexplored areas of Shuanghe Cave and the exploration of key controlling factors affecting the formation and development of the Shuanghe Cave system, in order to further explore and excavate the resources and value of the Shuanghe Cave system. Since the 1980s, Shuanghe Cave has undergone 23 international joint scientific expeditions. As of now, Shuanghe Cave has been found to have a connected length of 437.1 kilometers and a depth of 912 meters, making it the "longest cave in Asia" and "third longest cave in the world".
