On the 15th, the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held the launch ceremony of the "Heart for the Country" joint national education activity to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. The "Heart for the Country" series of activities will be normalized and popularized starting from the 2025/2026 academic year. The launch ceremony features a variety of programs, including a joint school Chinese orchestra consisting of nearly 80 students performing the "Yellow River Cantata", over 100 students performing lion dance, recitation, and Cantonese opera, and the joint school choir performing the final song. All participants celebrated the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japan, while witnessing the opening of a new chapter in the "Heart for the Country" joint national education series of activities. In his speech, the Acting Secretary for Education of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Stephen Chow, stated that the 2025 Policy Address proposes that the "Caring for the Country" series of activities will be normalized and popularized starting from this academic year. The Education Bureau will invite all schools in Hong Kong to participate in the "Naming Plan" of the "Heart for the Country" series of activities, jointly organize joint national education activities, gather resources and strength from different schools, and make patriotic education more effective. About 2500 representatives from the Education Bureau and educational institutions, principals, teachers and students, and parents attended the launch ceremony on that day. (New Society)
