The 2025 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Summit Forum will be held in Hong Kong on the 16th. The forum, with the theme of "Innovating the Economy to Break Through Difficulties and Establish New Ones," will discuss the unlimited opportunities for the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam stated that the SAR government is fully committed to leveraging the dual advantages of national and international opportunities under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy to drive the development of the Greater Bay Area. He introduced how Hong Kong can embrace change and contribute to building a first-class bay area from three aspects: innovative technology, financial trade, and infrastructure connectivity. He said that the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area is a regional coordinated development that breaks through geographical boundaries, an important engine for the country's development in the new era, and a key path for Hong Kong to integrate into the overall development of the country. The Deputy Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Cho Wing hing, believes that the forum theme is in line with the direction of the SAR government's vigorous development of innovative industries and integration into the overall national development. He delivered a speech titled "Empowering Silver Hair Life with Smart Technology: Innovative Applications from Health Management to Elderly Socializing", sharing how the SAR government and relevant institutions can use innovative technology to facilitate and enhance the lives of the silver hair generation in different areas, achieving a win-win goal of "enjoying the elderly" and "industrial innovation" in society. Sun Yu, Vice Chairman and President of Bank of China Hong Kong, stated that Hong Kong can further leverage its role in "internal connections" and "external connections". The development of mainland enterprises going global has become a trend, and Hong Kong can promote innovation in service models to help more companies in the Greater Bay Area go global. Deepening cooperation in areas such as digital economy, green economy, and silver economy will become an important driving force for the economic transformation and upgrading of the Greater Bay Area.
