The academic seminar on "Strengthening the Awareness of the Chinese National Community and Systematically Promoting the Sinicization of Religion in China", hosted by the Chinese Ethnic and Religious Culture Research Center of the Central Academy of Socialism, was recently held in Lanzhou. Yao Zhichuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Dean of the Central Institute of Socialism, Sun Xuetao, member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the United Front Work Department of the Provincial Party Committee, and Shang Xunwu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Political Consultative Conference and Dean of Gansu Institute of Socialism, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. The meeting pointed out that as a political college with a united front nature under the leadership of the Party, the Socialist College should deepen its understanding and grasp of General Secretary Xi Jinping's major original propositions on forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation and adhering to the direction of sinicization of religion in China, deepen the research and interpretation of forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation and systematically promoting the sinicization of religion in China, and help build a theoretical system of community for the Chinese nation and an independent knowledge system of Chinese religious studies. The meeting stressed that it is necessary to deepen the research and interpretation of the history of the Chinese nation and the Chinese nation community, actively build China's own historical data system, discourse system and theoretical system of the Chinese nation community, strengthen the study and education of religious circles on "national awareness, civic awareness and rule of law awareness", guide the people of all ethnic groups to firmly establish a correct view of the country, history, nationality, culture and religion, constantly enhance the "five identifications", and consciously participate in the construction of Chinese path to modernization. Experts and scholars from universities and research institutes such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, Central University for Nationalities, and Lanzhou University conducted in-depth discussions on the theme.
