The National Time Service Center, located in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, is responsible for the generation, maintenance, and broadcasting of "Beijing Time". It provides high-precision time services for industries such as communication, finance, power, transportation, surveying, and national defense, and also provides important data support for measuring international standard time. The National Time Service Center has independently developed a world leading time autonomous measurement system and has also built a major national scientific and technological infrastructure - a high-precision ground-based time service system. Once the relevant facilities are damaged by a cyber attack, it will affect the safe and stable operation of "Beijing time", causing serious consequences such as network communication failures, financial system disorders, power supply interruptions, transportation paralysis, and aerospace launch failures. After careful investigation by national security agencies, it was found that the US Security Agency had been planning a cyber attack on the National Time Service Center for a long time, showing a progressive and systematic characteristic. ·Starting from March 25, 2022, the US Security Agency used a vulnerability in a foreign brand's mobile SMS service to secretly attack and control the mobile terminals of multiple staff members of the National Time Service Center, stealing sensitive information stored in their phones. ·Starting from April 18, 2023, the US Security Agency has repeatedly used stolen login credentials to invade the computers of the National Time Service Center and probe the construction of the center's network system. ·From August 2023 to June 2024, the US Security Agency will deploy a new type of cyber warfare platform and use 42 special cyber attack weapons to carry out high-intensity cyber attacks on multiple internal network systems of the National Time Service Center, attempting to penetrate horizontally into high-precision ground-based time service systems and pre-set paralysis and destruction capabilities. National security agencies have found that the US National Security Agency's cyber attacks are mostly launched from late night to early morning Beijing time, using virtual private servers in the United States, Europe, Asia, and other regions as a "springboard" to conceal the source of the attacks. They use forged digital certificates to bypass antivirus software and other methods to conceal the attack behavior. They also use high-strength encryption algorithms to deeply erase the attack traces, making every effort to carry out network attack infiltration activities. The national security agencies dismantle the evidence of US cyber attacks, guide the National Time Service Center to carry out investigations and disposal, cut off attack links, upgrade preventive measures, and eliminate hidden dangers. In recent years, the United States has been pushing for cyber hegemony and repeatedly trampling on international rules in cyberspace.
