The 13th Forum of Supreme Court Presidents of Portuguese Speaking Countries and Regions, hosted by the Court of Final Appeal of the Macao Special Administrative Region, opened in Macao on the 20th. At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, Cen Haohui, stated that with the foundation of "one country", the benefits of "two systems", and the integration of Chinese and Western cultures, Macao can fully demonstrate its capabilities in "legal exchange, judicial mutual trust, and win-win rule of law": to boost investor confidence with clear rules, to ensure efficient judicial protection of contract performance, to reduce transaction costs with diverse dispute resolution mechanisms, and to make fairness and justice a solid bond for people to people exchanges among countries. Cen Haohui stated that the Macao SAR has now grown from a new member of the forum to an active participant and promoter, which is a solid guarantee for judicial independence under the "One Country, Two Systems" policy. The independent judicial and final adjudication powers granted by the Basic Law have enabled us to cultivate the foundation of the rule of law within the legal framework, and with the unique advantage of being bilingual in Chinese and Portuguese, have become a natural bridge connecting China and the Portuguese speaking world. The attendance of the presidents and representatives of the Supreme Courts of Portuguese speaking countries and regions at the forum in Macau is not only a high affirmation of the progress of Macau's rule of law, but also injects strong impetus into Macau's continuation of writing a new chapter of "Rule of Law Macau". The forum will be held from the 20th to the 21st at the Macau China Portuguese Speaking Countries Business Cooperation Service Platform Complex. The attending representatives will discuss and exchange ideas on the topic of "Law and Justice as Elements for Promoting Humanistic Integration and Socio Economic Development of All Ethnic Groups". At the invitation of Song Minli, President of the Court of Final Appeal of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the presidents or representatives of the Supreme Judicial Courts of seven Portuguese speaking countries, Angola, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal,  Sao Tome and Principe and Timor Leste, came to Macao to attend the meeting.
