On October 20th, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed that in the first three quarters, the production of industrial robots and service robots in China increased by 29.8% and 16.3% respectively year-on-year. The development of new quality productivity effectively stimulated the vitality of independent innovation and industrial upgrading, becoming a core force in promoting the high-end, intelligent, and green transformation of the manufacturing industry. Recently, there have been frequent good news of order growth, technological breakthroughs, and improved performance from upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial robot industry chain. At the same time, industry insiders also mentioned that there are differences in the competitive landscape of various segmented markets for industrial robots in China. In order to move the industrial robot industry towards the mid to high end, breakthroughs are still needed in the field of heavy-duty industrial robots. The spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics stated that since the beginning of this year, China's new industries and products have developed rapidly, and new formats and models have expanded rapidly. The integration and innovation of technology and industry continue to deepen, with more innovative achievements moving from laboratories to production lines, and the potential for innovation continuously transforming into economic momentum. Data shows that in the first three quarters of 2025, the added value of China's high-tech manufacturing industry above designated size increased by 9.6% year-on-year; The production of industrial robots, service robots, high-speed trains, and other products increased by 29.8%, 16.3%, and 8.6% respectively year-on-year; The production of 3D printing equipment, industrial control computers, and systems increased by 40.5% and 98.0% respectively year-on-year. The rapid growth of industrial robot production has become a direct reflection of the continuous release of demand for intelligent transformation in China's manufacturing industry. According to a research report by Guotai Haitong Securities, incomplete statistics show that since 2024, at least 22 companies have established wholly-owned or joint venture subsidiaries related to industrial robots, and the number of newly established industrial robot companies has exceeded 24. Faced with strong market demand, the order volume of leading industrial robot enterprises has significantly increased. Relevant companies are actively building competitive advantages through technological cooperation and scene expansion, promoting the acceleration of industrialization of innovative achievements. In the first half of 2025, the company's industrial robot shipments increased by nearly 20% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the number of robots used in electronic manufacturing applications increased by more than 50% compared to the same period last year, and the number of robots used in automotive and automotive parts applications increased by more than 40% compared to the same period last year. The relevant person in charge of Efte stated that in the first half of 2025, the company will make significant breakthroughs in the automotive vehicle and automotive parts industry. Spot welding robots, arc welding robots, spraying robots, and general robots will receive bulk orders from leading domestic new energy vehicle enterprises. Among them, the Ef heavy-duty welding robot successfully applied aluminum spot welding technology and roller edge technology for the first time on the white body welding production line, reflecting the improvement of the company's product capabilities. At present, Evert has established in-depth cooperation with more than ten well-known automobile brands such as BYD, Changan, GAC, Ideal, Xiaopeng, and Sailis. Xinshida stated that the shipment volume of its industrial robot related products increased by 25.7% year-on-year in the first quarter and 52.4% year-on-year in the second quarter; In the first half of 2025, the company successively released high-speed version SCARA and clean version SCARA robots, achieving growth in general industrial fields such as 3C electronics, semiconductors, digital lithium batteries, warehousing and logistics. After three years of continuous investment in the semiconductor robot field, which is an important strategic business of New Shida, the company has successfully created a product matrix for semiconductor wafer transfer robots. The products can cover pre/post semiconductor processes such as heat treatment, cleaning, etching, and thin film, and have been widely applied in the production of analog chips, power chips, sensor chips, LED chips, and other front-end wafer fabs (FAB). In the first half of the year, Xinshida achieved a year-on-year increase in the number of customers in this field and successfully obtained bulk orders from top domestic semiconductor process equipment manufacturers. The performance of on chain enterprises is growing rapidly, and emerging industries are thriving, promoting the transformation of industries towards high-end, intelligent, and green. The position of China's industrial robots in the global value chain has been significantly enhanced, and the performance of enterprises in the industrial robot industry chain has also significantly improved. Wang Jun, Deputy Director General of the General Administration of Customs, stated at the previous press conference of the State Council Information Office that in the first three quarters, China's export of industrial robots increased by 54.9% year-on-year; With the development of new quality productivity, China's export product structure continues to optimize and innovate, and the application scenarios of robots are becoming more diverse and popular in the international market. The relevant person in charge of Estun stated that as of the first half of 2025, the company has established 75 service outlets worldwide, with overseas business revenue reaching 749 million yuan. The company actively expands its global business by forming an international management team, increasing its exploration of markets such as Europe, America, and Southeast Asia, and seizing opportunities for domestic top customers such as new energy vehicles and lithium battery equipment manufacturers to accelerate the export of high-value products. According to the performance forecast released by Zhenyu Technology, a precision progressive stamping die and downstream precision structural component manufacturing enterprise in the industrial chain, the company is expected to achieve a net profit attributable to the parent company of RMB 400-420 million in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 132% -143.6%. The performance forecast released by 3D visual perception product company Obi Zhongguang shows that it is expected to achieve a revenue of 714 million yuan in the first three quarters, a year-on-year increase of 103.50%. The company stated that benefiting from the continuous improvement of the upstream 3D visual perception industry chain and the accelerated expansion of downstream application scenarios, the company's various types of robots and other business areas have achieved rapid growth. As the primary link in the digital reproduction of the real space physical world and the "perception decision execution" chain of various types of robots, the company's 3D visual perception technology can help accelerate the large-scale commercial application process of AI hardware on the end. Industry insiders have stated that the development of China's industrial robot industry has entered a deep water zone, and there are differences in the competitive landscape of various segmented markets. According to the 2025 White Paper on China's Industrial Robot Industry, industrial robots are classified into four categories based on mechanical structure and function: six axis robots, horizontal multi joint robots, parallel robots, and collaborative robots. Among them, collaborative robots have become the most certain branch of robots to grow in the coming years. Guotai Haitong Securities stated that traditional collaborative robots mainly focus on handling and mainly intervene in non core production processes. Starting from 2023, a group of domestic brands will accelerate the upgrade of collaborative robots and launch collaborative robot solutions that can be used for complex industrial processes such as assembly, welding, and palletizing, successfully breaking through technological bottlenecks. At present, the shipment volume of process based collaborative robots has surpassed that of handling based collaborative robots, and the continuous expansion of downstream application scenarios has also driven the sustained growth of collaborative robots. In terms of six axis robots, domestic lightweight robots have achieved global layout and formed strong competitive advantages. However, industry insiders also indicate that domestically produced high-value, high load robots are still in a weak position in global market competition. Although many start-up robot companies focus on the collaborative robot field with high gross profit margins and relatively low technological barriers, in order to promote the domestic industrial robot industry towards the mid to high end, breakthroughs in heavy-duty industrial robots must be achieved.
