On the 4th, the Cultural Bureau of the Macau SAR Government held a program tour for the Chinese Culture Performance Season at the Macau Cultural Centre, introducing the relevant arrangements for the event. The Chinese Culture Performance Season will be held from November to March next year, presenting four excellent plays. On November 27th and 28th, the National Peking Opera Theater took the lead, with renowned Peking Opera performers Yu Kuizhi and Li Shengsu leading the top-level lineup to present the Three Kingdoms old opera "Gathering of Heroes, Borrowing the East Wind, Huarong Road" and the classic masterpiece "Legend of the White Snake". From January 29th to February 1st next year, the Beijing People's Art Theatre will present the immersive play "Farewell My Concubine". The drama is written by writer Mo Yan, who expressed in a video recorded for this event that he is very happy that the drama will be performed in Macau. Previously, director Lin Cong adapted the drama and also processed the script. The new version of "Farewell My Concubine" has a richer and more multi-layered development in both plot and character personalities. The final work will be the dance drama "Mulan" brought by Ningbo Performing Arts Group on March 27th and 28th next year. It is reported that in addition to high-quality plays, the Chinese Culture Performance Season will also arrange multiple exchange performances and organize various extended activities such as community visits, campus visits, and experiential workshops, allowing citizens to experience the beauty of Chinese culture up close. Zheng Jiming, Deputy Director of the Cultural Bureau, stated that the Chinese Culture Performance Season will fully leverage Macau's advantage as a "exchange and cooperation base with Chinese culture as the mainstream and diverse cultures coexisting", providing a window for audiences around the world to understand Chinese culture through performance and exchange activities, and better promoting Chinese culture to the world.
