On the morning of the 10th local time, the "China Corner" series of side events of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (hereinafter referred to as the "Convention") kicked off in Belen, Brazil. The first side event focused on ecological civilization and the practice of a beautiful China. On November 10th, in Belen, Brazil, people participated in the first side event of the COP30 "China Corner" series. Chinese Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu delivered a speech at the opening ceremony, stating that ecological civilization is the historical trend of human civilization development, and building a beautiful home is the common dream of humanity. Currently, the world's century long changes are accelerating, and the climate crisis is becoming increasingly severe. But no matter how the international situation changes, China's active response to climate change will not slow down, its efforts to promote international cooperation will not weaken, and its practice of building a community with a shared future for mankind will not stop. Simon Steele, Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the Convention, stated in his speech that the Chinese concept emphasizes the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. This spirit can be seen in China's "dual carbon" goals, and the practice of this vision can also be felt in its leadership position in the field of renewable energy. Nowadays, climate action is not just an environmental issue, it also concerns the economy, society, and local governance. Only true cooperation can bring win-win situations between countries and a sustainable future for the world. UN Secretary General's Special Advisor on Climate Action, Selwin Hart, recalls the scene of his first visit to China in 2010. He stated that in the past 15 years, China has not only accelerated the clean energy revolution, but also demonstrated to the world how the clean energy revolution can truly change people's lives. One of the Chinese words I have learned is' we are all in the same boat 'on the issue of climate change. I believe that in the next two weeks, China's leadership will once again play a crucial role. "Liu Zhenmin, China's special envoy for climate change affairs, said in his speech that China is willing to work together with the international community, stand at the height of the well-being of all mankind, uphold sovereignty equality, abide by international rule of law, practice multilateralism, advocate people-oriented, and focus on action oriented, and work with all parties to promote the success of COP30, injecting more stability and certainty into the global climate process. On November 10th, in Bel é m, Brazil, delegates collected souvenirs at the COP30 "China Corner". The "China Corner" series of side events will continue until the 20th, with subsequent event themes including high-quality development and experience sharing of China's carbon market, China's path to carbon peak and carbon neutrality, China's energy transformation and new energy development.
