In 2025, the China Aircraft Strength Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as the "Strength Institute") will celebrate its 60th anniversary. After 60 years of hard work and perseverance, the Institute of Strength has basically established an internationally leading center for aircraft strength research and appraisal, delivering an impressive answer to the Party and the country. In 1965, the Strength Institute was born in the tide of the third line construction era. At the beginning of its establishment, it was entrusted with the glorious mission of "explorer of strength theory, creator of strength technology, provider of strength tools, and appraiser of strength design", becoming a key layout for responding to international blockades and relying on self-reliance to carry out aviation science and technology research. Under the call of the era of "preparing for war and preparing for the people", experts, scholars, and young scientists from all over the country packed their backpacks, crossed mountains and rivers, and came to the deep valleys of the northwest of our motherland. They chiseled and compacted stones and earth, expanded fields and cleared land, and conducted scientific research while focusing on construction. In less than two years, they built the largest and most well-equipped full-scale aircraft static experimental plant in Asia at that time. One year later, they successfully completed the full aircraft destruction experiment of the H-6 aircraft here. In just a few years, the Institute of Strength has successively broken through strength technologies such as ground resonance experiments and structural stability calculation methods, compiled a number of aircraft strength specifications and manual guidelines, and submitted the first sincere answer to the motherland, opening a new chapter in China's aviation strength industry. Core technology cannot be acquired, bought, or obtained. For the past 60 years, 'Strength People' have bravely climbed the technological peak and taken the lead in technological innovation. From hand cranked computers to digital twin technology, from single load research and verification to comprehensive evaluation of complex loads in multiple physical fields, they have created leading strength technologies such as anti fatigue fracture design and reliability, structural vibration and dynamic environment prediction, durability analysis, and ultra-high temperature evaluation. After 60 years of hard work, we have persisted in self-reliance and built an ecosystem of domestic independent structural analysis software SABRE; Continuously deepening the development concept of "high intensity, new intensity, and digital intelligence intensity", the system has constructed a multi-level professional system that fully meets the requirements of aircraft strength and structural integrity, becoming a research institution with full coverage of professional technology in the field. From the large static experimental plant in Yaoxian County (now Yaozhou District, Shaanxi Province) in the 1960s to the super large climate and environment laboratory in Yanliang District, Xi'an City in 2021, the Institute of Strength has always taken national strategy as its mission, research and development needs as its driving force, science and technology as its main line, from the construction of research and maintenance conditions to major infrastructure, from focusing on key breakthroughs to system efficiency research and development, and has built a large number of leading experimental facility groups represented by super large climate and environment laboratories and full machine vibration laboratories. After 60 years of overcoming difficulties, we have developed three major categories, four levels, rich connotations, and a complete system of leading experimental capabilities, becoming a research institution with full coverage of experimental capabilities in the field. For the past 60 years, our strength has closely followed the call of the motherland, optimized functional positioning through strategic transfer, and traveled through five regions and six points, forming an operational pattern of "one headquarters, three branches, and four centers". We have continuously improved the building block verification system of military and civilian aircraft represented by the nine major aircraft experimental capabilities, fully leveraging the role of the aviation strength main force and the "national team". With hundreds of full aircraft experiments, thousands of large component experiments, tens of thousands of component experiments, and millions of component experiments, we have honed and supported the Chinese war eagle to soar in the blue sky, becoming a research institution with full coverage of model development in the field. In the past decade, with the joint efforts of the "Strength People" represented by expert Wang Binwen in the field of aircraft strength, the Strength Institute has deeply promoted the leading innovation and development strategy, created an integrated two wing strength technology innovation system with "one mainline, two loops, and three-point linkage" as the core, and constructed the "1357" strength innovation platform matrix with national key laboratories as the leader, provincial and ministerial level platforms as the core, industry level platforms as the support, and enterprise level platforms as the foundation. It has overcome global scientific and technological challenges such as lightweight structural impact, harsh working conditions survival, and climate environment adaptation, and has broken through a number of major experimental capacity bottlenecks such as whole aircraft impact, whole aircraft force heat, and whole aircraft climate. It has created a model driven, virtual real, and real strength innovation platform matrix. A new paradigm of high-level technological self-reliance and self-improvement practice centered on integration and digital intelligence empowerment.
