The 15th National Games track and field (marathon) and triathlon competitions will start on November 15th. The Hong Kong division of the 15th National Games held a press conference on the 12th to introduce two events and their related transportation arrangements. Yang Deqiang, Director of the Hong Kong Regional Coordination Office of the National Games, stated at a press conference on the same day that the marathon event of this year's National Games, which spans across Shenzhen and Hong Kong with the Shenzhen Bay Bridge as the link, is the first cross-border marathon event in the history of the National Games. It is reported that the marathon track of the 15th National Games is 42.195 kilometers long, with both the starting and ending points located in Shenzhen, and the Hong Kong section is about 21.85 kilometers long. The competition consists of two events, men's and women's marathons, with a total of 71 athletes participating, including 38 male and 33 female athletes, among whom 2 males and 3 females are Hong Kong athletes. On the morning of the 15th, male marathon runners will depart from Shenzhen Bay Sports Center at 7:00 am, while female marathon runners will depart at 7:30 am. After running about 2 kilometers, the two groups of runners will enter Hong Kong through the Shenzhen Bay Port, run south along the Shenzhen Bay Highway Bridge and the Hong Kong Shenzhen Western Highway, and return to Shenzhen by the original route after reaching the turning point. It is expected that all runners will complete the Hong Kong stage within 2 hours. Yang Deqiang stated that the cross-border marathon event will implement pre inspection, and all participants, including those who need to cross the border for event security, will go through border inspection procedures in advance in the pre inspection area. "We will use wristbands and facial recognition technology and other security facilities to ensure that the entire event passes through the port area 'without feeling the customs clearance'. On the day of the competition, the Hong Kong division will close the front connecting road of the Shenzhen Bay Port in the direction of exit, and coordinate with the Shenzhen border inspection to arrange for the front-end interception of trucks at both ports. The Transport Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will implement temporary transportation arrangements in response to the closure of ports and related roads. Yang Deqiang continued to introduce that the triathlon competition will be held on the 15th and 16th at the Central Harbourfront and Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong. The competition is divided into three events: men's individual, women's individual, and mixed relay, with a total of 90 athletes from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau participating. The starting point of the competition is located on the sea near the temporary seaside garden in Wan Chai. Athletes need to complete a swimming event first, then switch to cycling, and finally complete a running sprint. During the competition, the contestants will pass through multiple landmarks in Hong Kong, with the cycling route set against the backdrop of the Central Business District, passing through the Hong Kong SAR Government Headquarters, the Hong Kong SAR Legislative Council Complex, the Central Ferris Wheel, and more; The running route revolves around the Central Waterfront Promenade and ends at the Central Waterfront Activity Space.
