The World Trade Organization held its 64th Special Session on Aid for Trade in Geneva, Switzerland on the 20th. The Chinese side took the initiative to set up an agenda for "China Africa Agricultural Technology Assistance Cooperation", sharing successful practices and experiences in agricultural technology assistance to Africa through vivid cases and detailed data, which was highly praised by all parties present. The Chinese representative stated that China attaches great importance to the work of promoting trade assistance. Food security is one of the eight key areas of cooperation in the Global Development Initiative. For many years, China has adhered to the policy concept of genuine, friendly, and sincere relations with Africa and the correct view of righteousness and benefit. It has implemented nearly a hundred "small but beautiful" agricultural aid projects in more than 30 African countries, contributing Chinese technology, experience, and solutions to the development of agriculture and food security in Africa. Taking the promotion of Chinese hybrid rice technology in Burundi, the development of animal husbandry technology demonstration center in Mauritania, the implementation of meteorological infrastructure construction projects in Ethiopia and more than 10 other countries, and the training of technical trade measures for African countries as examples, China shares the practice of agricultural technical assistance to Africa in terms of improving food production, developing green agriculture, promoting smart agriculture, and promoting trade assistance training. The Chinese representative emphasized that China is willing to continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all parties, implement high-quality agricultural cooperation projects to assist Africa and other regions, and help achieve global food security and common development. Nearly 100 representatives of WTO members spoke highly of China's important contributions in promoting food security in African countries. Chad, on behalf of the African Group, stated that China's agricultural assistance to Africa is an important component of the China Africa comprehensive strategic partnership, which helps to assist in the structural transformation and economic integration of the African continent. The representative of The Gambia on behalf of the Least Developed Countries Group stated that China's non-agricultural assistance has had a profound impact. China has significantly increased food production and farmers' income in Africa by establishing agricultural technology demonstration centers, disseminating hybrid rice technology, and mushroom grass technology, effectively reflecting the principle of shared development. The representative of Ecuador stated that agriculture is not only related to trade, but also to people's well-being and sustainable development. He suggested that China continue to deepen agricultural technology cooperation with other regions such as Latin America to achieve common development. The 6th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization proposed the Aid for Trade Initiative in 2005, and this year marks the 20th anniversary of its implementation. As a responsible developing country, China has been helping other developing members, especially the least developed countries, improve their trade conditions, enhance their trade development capabilities, and better integrate into the global trading system through a series of multilateral and bilateral trade assistance measures.
