On November 25th, at the 2025 Guling Forum held in New York, USA, "Friends of Guling" Cheng Gaodeng shared his family's stories with Guling and China. In a video speech, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng stated that although China and the United States have different histories, cultures, social systems, and development paths, their pursuit of friendship is the same. Both sides can overcome their differences and jointly write a new chapter of friendly exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese and American peoples. Friends of Guling, Cheng Gaodeng and Pu Guangzhu, shared their stories about their families, Guling, and China on site. Pu Guangzhu, born in Putian, Fujian in 1936 and living in China for 12 years, said, "We are deeply rooted in China." Representatives of the Stilwell family, General Stilwell's grandson Terry Stephen Cox, General Chennault's granddaughter, and Neil Chennault Carloway, director of the Chennault Air and Military Museum in the United States, also shared the history of their ancestors and the Chinese people's joint resistance against Japan. Cox said that in each of the five generations of the Stilwell family, someone has formed a friendship with the Chinese people. Adam Foster, founder and honorary chairman of the Helen Foster Snow Foundation, brought his 15-year-old daughter to the forum, hoping that she would understand the importance of friendship between the American and Chinese people and one day take over the torch passed down by Helen Foster Snow. Foster called on people to take action to build a bridge of friendship between the two countries. Feng Yijun, a board member of the American Table Tennis Association and Olympic athlete, shared the story of forming friendships with Chinese athletes during training.
