Anyang Normal University is located by the Red Flag Canal. For decades, all teachers and students have been deeply influenced and infected by the spirit of the Red Flag Canal. Hard work and entrepreneurship "and" selfless dedication "are important connotations of the Red Flag Canal spirit, and the school has always had a fine tradition in these aspects. I still remember in 1981, Wang Qi, a 78th grade student at the school, gave up his job opportunity in Zhengzhou and wrote letters to the Ministry of Education more than ten times to apply. Eventually, he fulfilled his wish to aid Tibet and opened the way for graduates from Anyang Normal University to support the border areas. In June 2011, Mao Xiaoping, a school graduate who had won honors such as the May Day Labor Medal of Henan Province and the Henan Province Industry Technical Expert, made an appointment with Xu Peipei and Ren Qingqing in the same dormitory to participate in the Western Plan and successfully passed the volunteer selection to go to Xinjiang. Driven by the influence of role models, the story of Anyang Normal University and the West has been continuously written in recent years. In Yiwu County, Hami, Xinjiang, the school has a "alumni group" of nearly 10 people. They have launched the "Yiwu Star Free Academic Tutoring Class" locally, providing guidance and services to students in their spare time. Not long ago, Wang Yanan, a 2017 graduate who has taken root in the local area, told us that many of the students they have tutored have successfully entered universities, and their friendship with the local people has become deeper and deeper. Every year, the school organizes a search team to go deep into the western region to understand the living and working conditions of volunteers, and helps volunteers solve practical problems in various ways that are heartwarming, empathetic, and close to people. The search team also brought back those real, vivid, touching and dedicated Western stories to the campus, and arranged them into a play called "The Most Beautiful Youth Business Card", which will be exhibited at the annual "Model Anshi" recognition ceremony.
