The reporter learned from the Ministry of Education that the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance have jointly launched and implemented the first batch of discipline breakthrough pilot projects for basic and interdisciplinary breakthrough plans. Major scientific and technological issues have been condensed from national strategic needs, and with the pilot projects as the driving force, advantageous universities have been organized to form strong alliances and cross school collaborations, breaking down disciplinary barriers and dependence on disciplinary development paths, promoting interdisciplinary integration and innovation, and cultivating new driving forces for the development of new quality productivity. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng emphasized that we should take the implementation of the breakthrough plan for basic disciplines and interdisciplinary fields as the driving force, focus on strengthening the supply of original innovation, actively promote the construction of national interdisciplinary centers, enhance the overall innovation efficiency and high-end talent cultivation capacity of the country, and support the construction of an integrated development pattern for education, science and technology talents. On December 2nd, the National Conference on Science and Technology Innovation in Universities and the Deployment Meeting for the Launch of the Basic Discipline and Interdisciplinary Breakthrough Plan were held in Beijing.
