On the 4th local time, UNESCO announced that 72 cities from 46 countries have joined the organization's global network of learning cities. Tianjin, Shenyang, and Ningbo, three Chinese cities, were selected this time. UNESCO Assistant Director General for Education, Gianni, stated that education is a collective endeavor, and cities play a crucial role in promoting learning for all. The 72 newly selected UNESCO learning cities announced on the 4th are redefining the meaning of learning, transforming streets, libraries, workplaces, museums, and homes into spaces for knowledge and innovation. By prioritizing education from early childhood to adulthood, these cities are empowering their citizens and creating opportunities for all. The Global Learning Cities Network was launched in 2013 and, with this expansion, currently includes 425 cities from 91 countries, providing lifelong learning opportunities for nearly 500 million citizens. UNESCO's learning cities create opportunities for everyone: helping workers adapt to the constantly changing job market through retraining and skill enhancement, providing literacy education for displaced individuals, empowering citizens of all ages to participate and shape the era of artificial intelligence, and cultivating entrepreneurial thinking. In the African country of Porto Novo, Benin, the "Women's Entrepreneurship Path Project" combines literacy, vocational training, and microcredit to help women become entrepreneurs in the fields of handicrafts and food processing. The "City of Learning" platform in Lisbon, Portugal has connected with over 120 partners and has planned to provide 1200 learning opportunities throughout the city. Buenos Aires, Argentina has reformed secondary education through the "Secondary School Learning Plan", which adopts personalized paths and interdisciplinary teaching methods to reduce dropout rates and prepare young people for the future. The newly selected cities include 11 capital cities, namely, Puerto Novo (Benin), Bissau (Guinea Bissau), Lusaka (Zambia), Cairo (Egypt), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Lisbon (Portugal), Ankara (Türkiye), Ashgabat (Turkmenistan), Hanoi (Vietnam), Buenos Aires (Argentina), Caracas (Venezuela).
