The results of the 8th Legislative Council election in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were announced on the morning of the 8th, with all 90 Legislative Council members elected. The election voting will be held from 7:30am to 11:30pm on the 7th, with 161 candidates competing for each seat. The central counting station located at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre has a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere, with staff nervously and orderly counting and confirming votes one by one. After overnight vote counting, all 40 members elected by the Election Committee, 30 members elected by functional constituencies, and 20 members directly elected by districts were elected. On the morning of the 8th, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Electoral Affairs Commission, Lu Qikang, expressed encouragement for citizens to come out and vote. During the election process, both the staff and the interviewed voters provided positive and constructive information. Legislative Council member Li Huiqiong, who was successfully re elected, said that the environment and challenges faced in each election are different, and in the future, she will continue to listen to opinions from all walks of life to better respond to the expectations and demands of the public.
