2025-12-10

On December 9th, the reporter learned from the Yulin Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute that professionals discovered a 13 kilometer long Qin Zhidao relic during archaeological investigations in the Yulin area. In order to explore the specific distribution and existing status of Qinzhidao resources in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province, the Yulin Cultural Relics Protection Research Institute launched the Qinzhidao Archaeological Survey Project in Yulin area in 2024. After on-site investigation, the remains of a 13 kilometer long Qinzhi Road located from Leilongwan Town to Chengguan Street Office in Hengshan District have been newly discovered. This section of the Qin Zhidao archaeological route is generally straight and poorly preserved. The confirmed remains include 9 continuous ravines and mountain passes distributed in a clear straight line, 1 rammed earth slope protection, and multiple places where the road surface is trampled and the foundation is compacted. In addition, professionals also discovered one small Qin and Han Dynasty site closely distributed along the Qin Straight Road, which is a post station or maintenance facility, and some road surfaces have a small number of typical Qin and Han Dynasty pottery tiles. The newly discovered archaeological survey of the Qin Zhi Dao in Yulin area has added new evidence to determine the overall route of the Qin Zhi Dao. (New Society)
