In the first month of the launch of the "face recognition" intelligent customs clearance system at Hengqin Port, 120000 customs clearance personnel have registered and a total of 640000 people have used it. As of December 4th, data shows that about 20000 people choose to use "face recognition" for passage on a daily basis, with the highest daily usage exceeding 32000 people, accounting for 44.5% of the clearance volume of the cooperative inspection self-service channel at Hengqin Port. The intelligent fast track for cooperative inspection has become a convenient channel for personnel to travel between Australia and Qinhuangdao. On November 5th, Hengqin Port became the first port in China to apply intelligent customs clearance in the cooperative inspection self-service channel, covering 64 cooperative inspection self-service channels in Hengqin Port's travel inspection hall and accompanying personnel inspection and release hall. After completing registration, eligible customs clearance personnel can use "face recognition" instead of "certificate recognition" at the first gate of the cooperative inspection self-service channel, significantly improving the clearance experience. Intelligent customs clearance has won wide recognition for its convenient and efficient advantages, and residents of cross-border work, education, and life in Australia and Qinhuangdao have actively registered and used it. The immigration management and technical departments of both places continue to track the implementation situation, optimize the system and services, and promote the synchronous improvement of customs clearance efficiency and passenger experience. Wu Suping, Deputy Director of the Public Security Police Department of the Macao Special Administrative Region, pointed out that "facial recognition" intelligent customs clearance is not only an innovative practice for the high-quality development of services provided by the immigration management departments of Macao and Qinhuangdao, but also a specific action in response to the construction of smart ports and the implementation of the Overall Plan for the Construction of the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone. Through the dual track of "hard connectivity" of infrastructure and "soft connectivity" of rules and mechanisms, the level of convenience for personnel exchanges between Australia and Qinhuangdao has been further improved, injecting new vitality into the integration of Australia and Qinhuangdao and the high-quality development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. In the future, the Public Security Police Department and relevant departments in Aoqin will continue to expand the scope of application of 'facial recognition' intelligent customs clearance, extending it to the 'joint one-stop' lane at Hengqin Port, and orderly expanding it to the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge Zhuhai Macao Port and Qingmao Port, two ports that also adopt the 'cooperative inspection and one-time release' mode, benefiting more cross-border travelers. ”Wu Suping stated.
