The President of the 7th Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Andrew Leung, stated that legislators from different professions and regional backgrounds, shouldering the expectations of the central government, must demonstrate determination and courage in entering the parliament in the future, urgently address the urgent needs of the citizens, and fully cooperate with the SAR government to promote post disaster reconstruction, legislative amendments, funding review, and necessary reforms, making Hong Kong safer and citizens more at ease. Liang Junyan emphasized that this election successfully implemented the principle of "patriots governing Hong Kong". The new Legislative Council will have 50 re elected members to continue their experience, as well as 40 new members joining to bring vitality. He hopes that new and old members can strengthen exchanges and pass on the torch. He expressed gratitude for the contributions made by the seventh Legislative Council to the country and Hong Kong over the past four years, and looked forward to the new members injecting new impetus into Hong Kong's development, working together with the SAR government to promote reforms, actively promoting Hong Kong's development level, and better integrating into the overall national situation.
