On the 10th, the judicial authorities of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced that in order to provide better support to those affected by the fire in Hung Fuk Court, Tai Po, they will prioritize and promptly handle all proposed legal proceedings related to the accident through a series of convenient measures. These measures include establishing a dedicated working group led by the Chief Justice of the High Court of the Special Administrative Region, consisting of relevant court leaders and specialized judges, to ensure that all levels of courts handle legal proceedings related to accidents promptly and as a priority, without compromising judicial fairness; A dedicated team composed of support personnel to handle matters related to the inheritance of accident victims; Exemption from the listed fees for inheritance matters related to accident victims, as well as prioritizing and expediting the handling of matters related to the cause of death judgment, including the issuance of a "Certificate of Fact of Death". In addition, the Legal Aid Department of the Special Administrative Region Government stated on the same day that a special task force has been established and a series of support measures will be launched to fully assist residents and other affected persons in applying for legal aid in accordance with legal requirements, to handle personal injury claims, property damage recovery, employee compensation and other litigation and related matters.
