Recently, the 2025 Global Poverty Reduction Partnership Symposium with the theme of "Strengthening Partner Collaboration to Address Poverty Reduction Challenges" was held in Beijing. Representatives from over 20 countries and international organizations gathered together to engage in in-depth discussions on advancing the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly focusing on "eradicating poverty". Eliminating poverty is a global challenge and a common goal for countries around the world. Currently, global poverty governance is facing new challenges, with factors such as climate change, regional conflicts, and slowing economic growth bringing many uncertainties to accelerate the implementation of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The attending delegates unanimously agreed that strengthening international poverty reduction partnerships is crucial in the face of global poverty reduction challenges. All parties should deepen the exchange of poverty reduction experience, innovate cooperation models, jointly promote the development of global poverty reduction, and contribute to the realization of the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Ni Hua, representative of the International Fund for Agricultural Development in China, said that United Nations agencies, including the International Fund for Agricultural Development, are committed to promoting China to share poverty reduction experience with other countries. "China has made great achievements in poverty reduction, which strongly proves that poverty reduction can be achieved through unremitting efforts.". The seminar was co sponsored by the China International Poverty Reduction Center, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the International Fund for Agricultural Development, the United Nations World Food Programme and the China Internet News Center. The Global Poverty Alleviation Case Set 2025, released during the conference, was jointly prepared by China Internet News Center, China International Poverty Alleviation Center, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, etc., providing useful references for developing countries to formulate localized poverty reduction policies. At the meeting, the list of award-winning cases from the 6th Global Poverty Reduction Case Collection Activity was also released, and the 7th Global Poverty Reduction Case Collection Activity was launched. Carlos Aldeko, the representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in China, stated that in order to truly eradicate poverty, it is necessary to promote the transformation of the agricultural food system and ensure that no one is left behind. The collection of global poverty reduction cases has become an important global public good. The global poverty reduction cases released document practical solutions from real communities to address real challenges, providing insights on how to learn from successful experiences. Gao Anming, the editor in chief of the China Foreign Languages Administration, stated that since the first conference in 2017, the Global Poverty Reduction Partnership Symposium has been successfully held for nine sessions. This mechanism has become an important platform for governments, international organizations, academia, and practitioners to share poverty reduction experiences and explore cooperation paths, playing an irreplaceable role in promoting South South cooperation and consolidating global consensus.
