The reporter recently learned from the Solidarity Hong Kong Fund that the "2025 Technology and Innovation Report: Inclusive Artificial Intelligence for Development" released by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development pointed out that Hong Kong is in a leading position in the world in terms of artificial intelligence readiness. The Unity Hong Kong Fund participated in the report writing. It is reported that the report evaluates the readiness of artificial intelligence in three dimensions: infrastructure, data, and skills. In evaluations of over 100 economies, Hong Kong was rated as a leader in all three dimensions. Zhang Manli, Deputy Director of the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that Hong Kong will continue to play a bridging role, connecting the East and the West, contributing wisdom and experience, and promoting progress and cross-border cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence. The report suggests that the size of the artificial intelligence market is expected to reach $4.8 trillion by 2033. Artificial intelligence can enhance other technologies and promote human-machine collaboration, especially when combined with cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, and blockchain, to drive digital transformation in various industries. Mai Yingcong, the head of Greater Bay Area Development Research at the Unity Hong Kong Fund, stated that Hong Kong has unique advantages in connecting China and foreign countries, and can consider establishing internationally recognized artificial intelligence standards and certification platforms, as well as establishing mutual recognition mechanisms with other economies.
