This year marks the 50th anniversary of Suez Group's entry into the Chinese market. We highly value this half century long cooperation and the deep trust relationship established with our Chinese partners, "said Xia Hongye, CEO of Suez Group in France, in an interview with our reporter." French and Chinese companies have profound professional knowledge and strong industrial strength, and now is a critical moment for us to work together to explore new cooperation, address current challenges, and promote sustainable development. "Recently, French President Macron paid a state visit to China. As a member of President Macron's business delegation to China, Suez Group has reached two new cooperation agreements in the field of environmental protection with its partners in Jiangsu and Shandong provinces during this trip. France and China have maintained close cooperation in addressing climate change, environmental protection, clean energy and other fields for a long time. We look forward to further deepening the collaborative innovation and cooperation between the two countries in related fields, "said Xia Hongye. In recent years, the economic and trade cooperation between China and France has continuously expanded and strengthened its resilience. China continues to optimize its business environment, bringing opportunities for foreign-funded enterprises, including French companies, to share the dividends of China's development. Currently, we have established long-term and stable partnerships with clients in over 30 major cities and regions in China. Our business has expanded from infrastructure construction to water operations, solid waste resource management, industrial park services, seawater desalination, and smart environmental solutions, among many other fields. "Xia Hongye introduced. For many years, Suez Group has witnessed and deeply participated in the practice of green transformation in various fields in China. In Shanghai, Suez Group provides comprehensive water and solid waste disposal services to chemical giants such as Sinopec, reducing carbon emissions while treating high concentration wastewater and realizing the resource utilization of hazardous waste; In Macau, Suez Group uses digital solutions to help improve water resource utilization efficiency in this densely populated city, reducing water leakage rates from 18.1% in 1985 to approximately 8% currently, ranking among the world's leading; In Yantai, Shandong, the industrial membrane seawater desalination plant project constructed by Suez Group has been put into operation. The treated seawater serves as a supplementary water source for the local chemical industrial park, effectively alleviating the shortage of freshwater resources and greatly reducing water supply energy consumption. In November of this year, China released the White Paper on China's Action to Peak Carbon Emissions and Achieve Carbon Neutrality. Xia Hongye stated that the proposal of the "dual carbon" target demonstrates China's foresight and responsibility in global climate governance. China's strategy of closely integrating economic growth with ecological transformation not only injects green momentum into China's high-quality development, but also contributes to the promotion of global net zero emissions goals. In his view, this also points the way for the company to further cultivate the Chinese market: "We will actively respond to China's needs in decarbonization, circular economy, green transformation and other fields, and resonate with China's green development goals." "In recent years, China has achieved significant results in expanding market access and optimizing the business environment, enhancing the confidence of multinational enterprises in China's development. ”Confidence "is a high-frequency word used by Xia Hongye in an interview." We are full of confidence in China's commitment to continuously investing in ecological transformation, and believe that this will create more opportunities for cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises and promote global sustainable development. "2026 is the beginning year of the" 15th Five Year Plan ", and China continues to expand its high-level opening-up to the outside world, welcoming more multinational enterprises to invest and develop in China. China's five-year plan provides clear and stable policy guidance for the market, and this predictable business environment is of great significance for the long-term strategic planning of multinational enterprises, "said Xia Hongye." Looking ahead, we will continue to leverage our technological and project expertise in the field of environmental protection, closely align with the green development demands of the Chinese market, drive future development with innovation, and work together with Chinese partners to promote more high-quality, pragmatic, and efficient cooperation
