To cope with the peak travel season during the Spring Festival, Singapore Changi Airport Group issued a statement on the 19th stating that the airport will add more than 600 new flights between Singapore and China from February 1st to March 8th, covering direct routes between Singapore and 15 Chinese cities. The statement said that China is Singapore's largest source market, and the Spring Festival has long been an important time for Chinese tourists to travel to Singapore. As winter vacation and Spring Festival approach, the airport will usher in a new round of peak passenger flow. The statement said that among 15 Chinese cities, flights to Nanchang, Ningbo, Wenzhou, Wuhan, and Zhengzhou increased for the first time during the Spring Festival holiday. Under the continuous promotion of visa free policies between China and Singapore, the number of two-way tourists continues to grow. According to the Singapore Tourism Administration, from January to November 2025, the number of visitors from Chinese Mainland to Singapore will reach 2.93 million, ranking first among all tourist sources. Lin Zhenjie, Executive Vice President of Aviation and Cargo Development at Changi Airport Group, stated that the significant increase in flight capacity between Singapore and China during the Spring Festival reflects the strong travel demand between the two countries and the close cooperation between Changi Airport and various airlines. During the Spring Festival, Changi Airport will also launch online and offline Chinese New Year themed activities, including consumer promotions and payment discounts, and more merchants will extend their business hours or open night business hours.
