According to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance on the 28th, the Ministry of Finance and five other departments recently jointly issued a notice on matters related to port entry duty-free shops, setting up and adjusting a batch of port entry duty-free shops nationwide. Among them, a total of 16 ports in Guangdong have been approved to establish import duty-free shops, the highest number approved in the past 5 years. Among them, Nansha International Cruise Home Port, Pazhou Hong Kong Macau Passenger Transport, Shenzhen Bay, Hengqin, Qingmao, Liantang and other newly established ports are duty-free entry ports. Port entry duty-free shops refer to shops established within the quarantine zones of open airports, water or land ports, selling duty-free goods to inbound passengers in accordance with regulations. Compared to outbound duty-free shops, inbound duty-free shops allow passengers to bring goods into the country after shopping, with stricter approval standards. The Finance Department of Guangdong Province introduced that in order to further implement the work of expanding domestic demand and promoting consumption, the department has concentrated on sorting out and reporting a batch of applications for the establishment of duty-free shops at ports, actively communicating and reporting to the Ministry of Finance, and promoting the incremental expansion of duty-free shops at ports. After this approval, the number of duty-free shops entering and leaving Guangdong ports has reached 60, ranking first in the country. All major ports with concentrated inbound and outbound passenger flow will have duty-free shops, achieving full coverage of various types of passenger ports such as land, water, and airports, promoting the annual flow of about 1 billion inbound and outbound passengers in Guangdong Province, and converting it into an increase in consumption for shopping in Guangdong. The department stated that the next step will be to promote the smooth opening and operation of newly approved port entry duty-free shops, and to jointly form a more complete duty-free consumption supporting service system with existing port exit duty-free shops. At the same time, we will make full use of the new policy for duty-free shops, vigorously promote the increase of online booking services for duty-free shops, introduce Guangdong characteristic brand products into duty-free channels, develop themed duty-free shopping scenes with Guangdong characteristics, and promote the development of "inbound shopping" in Guangdong.
