The "Annual Conference of the Interpol Cybercrime Expert Group" jointly organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Police Force and the International Criminal Police Organization was held in Hong Kong from February 2nd to 3rd. The conference, with the theme of "combating the industrialization of cybercrime", attracted law enforcement agencies, industry and international organization experts from over 30 countries/regions, with a total of more than 120 attendees. The Commissioner of Police, Zhou Yiming, stated in his speech that there is no strong boundary for cybercrime. To effectively combat it, it is necessary to strengthen cross-border cooperation, cross sector partnerships, and continuously enhance response capabilities. This conference is a platform that brings together international law enforcement agencies, academia, and industry to transform collective wisdom into a force to combat cybercrime through experience sharing, intelligence exchange, and joint action. Neal Jetton, the head of cybercrime at Interpol, thanks the Hong Kong Police Force for co hosting the conference and jointly promoting cross-border cooperation. He pointed out that this conference fully demonstrates Hong Kong's active role as an international police cooperation hub, and hopes that the conference can promote practical solutions and joint actions to effectively combat and dismantle cybercrime. This conference is the first time that the annual meeting of the Interpol Cybercrime Expert Group has been held in Hong Kong. The conference provides a platform for law enforcement experts, technology companies, and relevant stakeholders from around the world to conduct in-depth discussions on the industry chain of combating cybercrime, covering multiple topics such as cybercrime ecology, online extortion, artificial intelligence, and virtual asset tracking. The attendees also shared and exchanged information on cross-border intelligence exchange, collaborative actions, and capacity building. Multiple booths will be set up at the conference to showcase the latest artificial intelligence technologies and products, allowing attendees to discuss the latest developments in various technologies, innovative technology applications, and more on-site.
