Han Feizi once said, "Those who are good at spreading the internet should follow their principles." He emphasized the importance of grasping the key points in doing things. How can news reporting achieve "guiding the outline"? Based on my interview practice, I have three main insights. One is to delve into the news scene and be able to uncover the 'real problems'. Frontline news is rich in experience and can easily be confusing. To find the most newsworthy reporting points, reporters need to discover what they are thinking and hoping for in the fields, learn to look at problems from Tiananmen Square, and be good at "breaking through the sand pot and asking questions to the end". Only in this way will the report not float on the surface. The second is that the selection of materials should be able to be "disconnected", and content unrelated to the main idea should be firmly discarded. When I first started working, I incorporated the content of the interview into the manuscript in one go. However, the result of being comprehensive is that it doesn't cover every aspect. The report written in this way may seem bloated, but upon closer reading, it can be confusing. In practice, I gradually realized that true kung fu lies in being well-rounded and avoiding unnecessary words and tasks. Thirdly, news writing should avoid being formulaic. Journalists often fall into writing conventions after working for a long time. People often say that short videos attract audiences in the first three seconds, and written reports are no exception? There is no fixed method in writing, attracting the audience is the key. As a journalist of Guangming Daily, news, ideological, academic, and literary aspects are indispensable in reporting. Having both the "four qualities" provides a solid foundation for upholding integrity and innovation. (New Society)
