On the 3rd and 4th, representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, UNICEF Indonesia, and relevant departments of the Indonesian government jointly inspected the Chinese government's and UNICEF's assistance to Indonesia's dietary supplement and school meal projects in Papua Province. Papua Provincial Government Secretary General Christian thanks the Chinese government for its assistance, which has enabled vulnerable groups such as children and pregnant women in Papua Province to receive more nutritious and balanced meals, and school aged children to receive better education. Li Hongwei, a counselor at the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia, stated that the project has achieved positive results, benefiting nearly 140000 people and bringing tangible benefits to local children, women, and communities. We hope that all parties will continue to implement the project well, ensure project quality, continuously improve the nutritional level of children and women in Papua, promote the project to benefit more people, and create a model of tripartite cooperation. During the visit of Indonesian President Prabowo to China in November 2024, the two countries signed a joint statement on promoting a comprehensive strategic partnership and building a community with a shared future between China and Indonesia, which includes supporting Indonesia's free nutritious meal program. In December of the same year, the China International Development Cooperation Agency signed an agreement with the United Nations Children's Fund in China regarding the Indonesian dietary supplement and school meal project, supporting the Indonesian government in implementing the plan.
