The reporter learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that on February 2nd local time, the third meeting of the China EU Water Policy Dialogue Mechanism was held at the EU headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, with the theme of "Deepening Water Cooperation and Enhancing Water Resilience". During the meeting, Minister of Water Resources Li Guoying stated that comprehensively enhancing water resilience and fully ensuring water security under the impact of climate change is an urgent issue faced by all countries. China adheres to the concept of "water conservation first, spatial balance, systematic governance, and dual pronged approach" in water management, giving priority to water conservation. Water is used to determine cities, land, people, and production, with careful planning and utilization of water resources, and strict management of water resources. The Chinese side also introduced the positive achievements made in the implementation of China's water-saving policy system, including agricultural water-saving and efficiency improvement, industrial water-saving and emission reduction, and urban water-saving and loss reduction. During the conference, representatives from both China and Europe gave technical presentations on three topics: water resource protection and efficient utilization, digital twin water conservancy, and international water governance. The China EU Water Policy Dialogue Mechanism was established in 2017 with the aim of implementing the outcomes of the China EU Leaders' Meeting and enhancing communication and cooperation on water resources policies between China and the EU.
