The 2026 World Government Summit will be held in Dubai

On February 5th, the 2026 World Government Summit came to an end in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The summit lasted for three days, with the theme of "Shaping the Future Government". About 35 heads of state and government and government representatives from more than 150 countries and regions attended relevant activities. The joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and regional connectivity became one of the focuses of discussion among participants. Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Sharif stated in his speech at the meeting that Azerbaijan is positioning itself as a key hub for Eurasian connectivity. He pointed out that the ship shore operation time at Baku Port has been reduced from about 20 hours to only 4-5 hours, which is due to the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative. He stated that future transportation corridors include faster border clearance, regulatory coordination, digitization, and institutional frameworks conducive to investment. Azerbaijan is ready to enhance global supply chain resilience and strengthen regional connectivity by further advancing infrastructure modernization and accelerating digital solutions, "said Edir Basarov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, at the meeting. Kyrgyzstan is working hard to build the China Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan railway project by investing in major transportation and digital connectivity projects. It is expected that after the completion and opening of the railway, it will open up the shortest land route from Shanghai to Paris, promote the more efficient export of Kyrgyzstan's domestic products, and drive the development of the areas along the line. Against the backdrop of rapid development of China's technology industry, more and more leaders and business people from Middle Eastern countries are attaching importance to carrying out scientific and technological innovation cooperation with China. Lebanese Minister of State for Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence Kamal Shehadi stated that China is a leading country in the global development of artificial intelligence. Tariq Sultan, vice chairman and CEO of Kuwait Yazhong Logistics Co., Ltd., told people.com.cn that the initiative of jointly building the "the Belt and Road" proposed by China plays an important role in strengthening the global logistics network. He believes that the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council have unique advantages in economic, trade, and logistics cooperation with China, and can become trustworthy investment and cooperation partners for China.
