The report states that driven by the record deployment of solar power facilities, global renewable energy generation is in the process of surpassing coal-fired power generation, and the latest data shows that the two will be almost on par by 2025. Nuclear power generation is also setting new records. It is expected that by 2030, renewable energy and nuclear power combined will provide 50% of the world's electricity, up from the current 42%.
