In response to the current situation of changes in Hong Kong's travel patterns, the Hong Kong SAR government recently released the "Transport Strategy Blueprint", proposing 25 specific suggestions to formulate short, medium, and long-term measures for future work goals, strategies, and directions, and to drive Hong Kong's economic development and make citizens' lives more convenient. It is reported that the "Transport Strategy Blueprint" looks forward to a development vision of more than 20 years in the future with policy innovation and technological innovation thinking. It comprehensively considers factors such as Hong Kong's population trend, travel demand, urban and technological development, and focuses on the new layout of "eight vertical and eight horizontal" infrastructure, planning a new generation of transportation hubs, flexible "demand-oriented smart bus" services, and strengthening the application of artificial intelligence in traffic management. By implementing the blueprint, we aim to promote the economic and sustainable development of Hong Kong, and facilitate the flow of people and goods within the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The blueprint mentions that the SAR government aims to implement mutual recognition of commercial vehicle driving licenses among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau next year; Promote the exchange of public transportation information among cities in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, facilitating citizens and tourists to access real-time cross-border public transportation information; To facilitate the travel of more citizens, we will make every effort to promote the opening of Route 6 within the year; Next year, Hong Kong will introduce approximately 600 electric buses and 3000 electric taxis; The first batch of licensed ride hailing platforms will operate as early as the fourth quarter of this year. Chen Meibao, Secretary for Transport and Logistics of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, stated that the "Transport Strategy Blueprint" provides impetus for Hong Kong's development in the next 20 years from a macro perspective. Its formulation responds to national strategies, connects with the "15th Five Year Plan" proposals, attracts national transportation technology enterprises to Hong Kong through macro infrastructure layout and technological innovation, and jointly builds Hong Kong's future transportation system to support the efficient operation of Hong Kong's international financial, shipping, and trade center, connect the world, and promote regional coordinated development.
