The modernization of military theory is an important component of national defense and military modernization, and plays an important leading role in the development of a strong military. Military theory refers to the rational understanding and knowledge system about military issues, mainly including the Party's military guidance theory, strategic and war theory, combat theory, military struggle reality response theory, military construction theory, etc. Scientific military theories reveal the laws of war, the laws of war guidance, and the laws of military construction, guide the construction and application of military forces, have a profound impact on various elements of combat effectiveness, and lead the development of military practice. Looking back at the history of military development, Mahan's theory of "sea power" and Du Hei's theory of "air superiority" have both led the military trend, promoted military reform, and changed the face of war. It can be said that advanced military theory is the ideological weapon that guides war correctly. Whoever is superior in military theory innovation is more likely to seize the opportunity to win. The key to the continuous development and growth of the People's Army is to always adhere to the guidance of advanced military theories. During the struggle in Jinggangshan, our party developed guerrilla warfare strategies and tactics based on the characteristics of the enemy being strong and us being weak, and preserved and developed ourselves. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, our party implemented the strategic policy of "guerrilla warfare as the basic approach, but not relaxing the mobile warfare under favorable conditions", dealt a heavy blow to the Japanese aggressors, and strengthened and developed itself. During the Liberation War, our party did not care about the gains and losses of one city or one place, and exchanged space for time. We concentrated our superior forces to fight a war of annihilation, defeated the Nationalist army, and ushered in the birth of New China. The new military practice calls for new military theories. Currently, the forms of warfare are rapidly evolving, with new concepts, theories, and doctrines emerging one after another, even to the point where 'one theory guides one war, and one war eliminates another theory'. Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the new military revolution in the world, the practice of strengthening and revitalizing our military has been deeply promoted, which has put forward urgent requirements for military theory innovation and provided broad space. Our military construction and development are facing a large number of new situations and problems, which must be answered theoretically. Military theorists can only continuously open up new horizons in the development of military theory and make new contributions to consolidating and enhancing the combat effectiveness of the military by firmly grasping the issues of war and operations and promoting innovation in military theory with a broader and longer-term perspective. To enhance the contribution rate of military theory to combat effectiveness, the focus is on innovating and developing war and combat theories with our military characteristics. In recent years, emerging fields and battlefield space have been constantly expanding, and high-tech has penetrated the military field comprehensively. Our military must win new military advantages through theoretical innovation. Theoretical innovation is not closed. We should strive to master the winning mechanism of modern warfare, learn from advanced military theories of foreign armies, be good at learning from each other's strengths and weaknesses, consolidate our foundation and innovate, and strive to be one step ahead in theoretical innovation.
