The 3rd China Italy Biodiversity Conference was held in Naples, Italy on the 26th, where political and academic figures from China and Italy exchanged ideas on cutting-edge research in biodiversity conservation. Fiorentino, President of the Italian National Center for the Future of Biodiversity, said in his opening speech that the two sides have signed multiple cooperation agreements and led related research, especially the exchange and growth of young researchers from both sides, which will contribute to the sustainable development of scientific cooperation between the two countries. Mark Ping, deputy director and secretary-general of the Biodiversity Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that at present, global biodiversity conservation is at a critical juncture. The "Kunming Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework" pointed out a clear direction for global action in 2030 and the future. The joint efforts of China and Italy to support the implementation of the framework will give more weight to the voices of the scientific communities of both sides in global biodiversity governance. Lu Ping, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Italy, stated that the outline of China's 15th Five Year Plan clearly identifies the implementation of major projects for biodiversity conservation as a key task, which also provides opportunities for cooperation between China and Italy in the field of biodiversity. Fiorentino said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency, "Biodiversity cooperation has truly built a bridge for in-depth communication and cooperation between the scientific communities of both sides." He believes that urban biodiversity is related to everyone's living environment, and the potential for cooperation between the two sides in this field is enormous.
