China's first new energy storage artificial intelligence data analysis platform is put into use

2026-03-30

On March 26th, it was learned from Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Co., Ltd. that China's first domestically developed large-scale new energy storage artificial intelligence data analysis platform has been officially put into use in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, helping new energy storage equipment transition from traditional manual management to artificial intelligence management. It is reported that the newly launched artificial intelligence platform has connected to 8 pilot new energy storage power stations, covering Guangdong, Yunnan, Hainan and other places. The platform can collect real-time operational data from 2.38 million measurement points of 300 sets of energy storage systems, and use intelligent algorithms to make millisecond level accurate diagnosis of the status of energy storage devices. According to Liu Xuan, a technical expert from the Maintenance and Testing Branch of Nanwang Energy Storage Co., Ltd., the platform has achieved large-scale and standardized access to energy storage devices from different power stations, manufacturers, and technical routes for the first time in China. After discovering data anomalies, the platform can automatically assist operation and maintenance personnel in investigating the causes step by step from the "power station" to the "battery cluster", allowing them to stay at home and grasp the equipment status and formulate maintenance strategies. In addition, the platform has also established high-quality datasets for various new energy storage technologies. Driven by machine self-learning capabilities, the platform will continuously improve the intelligent operation and maintenance level of new energy storage power stations. After a year of trial operation, the equipment failure rate of the 8 connected power stations has been reduced by 34%, the new energy consumption has increased by about 30%, and the system regulation capability has been significantly enhanced. The platform already has intelligent analysis capabilities for over 100 large-scale energy storage stations, and will be connected to new energy storage demonstration stations such as vanadium flow to support the development of new energy storage technologies, "said Zou Lunsen, Deputy General Manager of the Operations Center of Southern Power Grid Peak shaving and Frequency Regulation (Guangdong) Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd.
