On the 30th, Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Limited held the "Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Cultivation Plan Launch Ceremony and Technology Day Exhibition". Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, expressed his expectation that the Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Company will build the platform into an international springboard for "bringing in and going out", attracting more top enterprises and talents from home and abroad to settle in Hong Kong and the park, and helping the start-up enterprises in the park expand into the global market. It is reported that the Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park incubation program is linked with top incubation platforms worldwide, focusing on two major fields: life and health technology, artificial intelligence, and data science, providing full process support for startups from research and development, validation to commercialization. The program accepted applications from November 17th to December 30th last year and received over 750 applications, ultimately selecting 108 start-up companies. The selected startups come from all over the world, including Southeast Asia, Europe, and America, except for Hong Kong, Macau, and mainland China. Overseas startups account for about 16% of the overall selected startups. The selected 108 companies will settle in the Hetao Hong Kong Park for further incubation, contributing to the high-quality development of the Hong Kong economy. At the event, Sun Dong delivered a speech stating that the unique advantage of the Hetao Hong Kong Park lies in the close integration of government, industry, academia, and research. The SAR government is making every effort to promote the development of the innovation and technology industry, and is committed to building Hong Kong into an international innovation and technology center. I believe that with everyone's joint efforts, the Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park will inject a continuous stream of momentum into the development of Hong Kong's innovation and technology industry. Cai Jieming, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park Co., Ltd., stated that the SAR government and park companies are fully committed to promoting the construction of the park. Three of the first eight buildings in the park have been completed and put into operation, and the remaining five buildings are expected to be completed inland this year. Starting from the second quarter, the remaining plots of the first phase of development will be gradually launched, marking a new acceleration stage for the development of the park. The Hong Kong Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park is the Hong Kong campus of the Hetao Shenzhen Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, located in the Lok Ma Chau Hetao area, covering an area of approximately 87 hectares. The park officially opened on December 22 last year, adopting a development model of "scientific research plus pilot testing", focusing on cutting-edge technology fields such as life and health technology, artificial intelligence and robotics, new energy, and high-end intelligent manufacturing.
