Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with SenseTime Technology in Hong Kong, initiating strategic cooperation in artificial intelligence computing infrastructure and AI industry ecology. Both parties will work together to build a large-scale intelligent computing center in Hong Kong, with the goal of constructing a computing power scale of 40000 P+(P is the computing power unit, i.e. PetaFLOPs, and 1P is trillions of floating-point operations per second) by 2030.
It is reported that this project will serve as the core AI infrastructure supporting the era of big models, providing efficient computing power support for various industries, accelerating the landing of Hong Kong's AI industry, and further enhancing Hong Kong's competitiveness in global innovation and AI development.
At the signing ceremony, Zhang Manli, Deputy Director of the Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government, delivered a speech stating that the cooperation between Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation and SenseTime not only promotes the construction of Hong Kong's intelligent computing cluster, but also reflects the integration of Hong Kong's "industry and research", further supporting Hong Kong's construction of an international innovation and technology center. We believe that the completion of the Shaling Data Park, Science Park, and SenseTime's domestic intelligent computing power cluster will further enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness in the global AI field and jointly support Hong Kong to become an AI innovation highland.
