On June 24th, the reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology that five departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, and the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council recently jointly issued a notice to deploy and carry out pilot projects for industrial 5G independent private networks. The notice pointed out that large and super large enterprises in the fields of raw materials, equipment manufacturing, consumer goods, electronic information, defense technology, energy and transportation should be supported to build independent private networks, and the pilot cities of "5G+Industrial Internet" integrated application should be encouraged to take the lead in building independent private networks.
It is reported that the industrial 5G independent private network refers to the enterprise exclusive 5G network that is led by industrial enterprises to construct key facilities such as access networks and core networks, and can operate independently without relying on the public network.
Through this pilot project, we will explore a new model of "building, using, maintaining and managing" independent private networks, meet the specific needs of enterprises, foster and expand the industry chain ecology of independent private networks, and help "5G+Industrial Internet" enable thousands of industries.
The pilot program includes five aspects: deploying infrastructure, innovating application scenarios, building management platforms, exploring construction models, and ensuring security. Among them, it is proposed to actively explore the application potential of 5G/5G evolution (5G-A) technology features such as high-speed transmission, ultra-low latency, integrated sensing, passive IoT, high-precision positioning, and network intelligence, accelerate the deep integration of 5G into production and management, focus on industry needs to improve application scenario adaptability, promote innovative applications such as full process control and collaborative production, and accelerate the deep integration of independent private networks and industrial production.
The notice also proposes to fully utilize existing funding channels, make full use of measures such as "dual" and "two new", and increase support for the construction of pilot projects. Encourage local governments to explore the establishment of diversified investment mechanisms through the establishment of special funds, industry funds, and other means. Support the research and development, supply, and industrial deployment of customized chips, modules, terminals, network equipment, and other products that meet the needs of independent private networks, and cultivate a group of independent private network equipment, solutions, system integration, and other service providers.
