“Mountains and Seas: Friendship and Trust, Benefiting People’s Livelihood and Promoting Economic Integration” – The first China-Vietnam Agricultural Products Cooperation Forum was held recently in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Over 400 representatives from relevant industries and enterprises from both countries attended the event.
In his remarks, Ambassador He Wei of China to Vietnam stated that China and Vietnam have achieved significant results in their agricultural cooperation. China is willing to work with Vietnam to steer cooperation towards a new direction under the guidance of political mutual trust, strengthen infrastructure connectivity to achieve new trade speeds, leverage digital technologies to realize new developments in green agriculture, promote traditional agricultural cooperation between China and Vietnam towards coordinated development across the entire value chain, and jointly build a higher-level strategic community of shared future for China and Vietnam.
Nguyen Minh Vu, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Vietnamese agricultural products are increasingly popular in the Chinese market, with exports of high-quality products such as durian, dragon fruit, and bananas growing rapidly. This clearly demonstrates the economic complementarity between the two countries and the potential for cooperation in the agricultural sector. The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to play a bridging role and provide strong support for Vietnamese-Chinese businesses and local cooperation.
Zhou Ye, General Manager of the Hanoi Branch of the Agricultural Bank of China, delivered a keynote speech at the forum, stating that the Hanoi Branch of the Agricultural bank of China would continue to play a role as a financial bridge, striving to provide comprehensive and full-cycle financial support for agricultural cooperation between China and Vietnam, and actively serving the overall goals of high-quality economic and trade development in both countries.
During the event, He Wei held a media briefing, during which he answered reporters’ questions on the key areas of cooperation between China and Vietnam in agricultural products, trade policies, and facilitation of customs clearance procedures. (Looking into the New Era)
