According to the Ministry of Public Security, six departments have issued the National Network Identity Authentication Public Service Management Methods for one year of implementation. A total of 40 million people applied for digital identity, and 280 million online identity authentication services were provided. The social influence and public acceptance of national online identity authentication public services continued to grow.

On July 15, 2025, the National Network Identity Authentication Public Service Management Approach, jointly issued by six departments, including the Ministry of Public Security, the National Internet Information Office, the Ministry for Civil Affairs, the Secretary of Culture and Tourism, the National Health Commission, and the State Administration of Radio and Television, was officially implemented. Over the past year, the National Network Identity Authentication Public Service has actively served the development of related industries and fields with the principle of voluntary and free service, achieving remarkable results in facilitating people's interests and protecting citizens' personal information, which has been widely recognized by all sectors of society.

Reporters learned from the Ministry of Public Security that so far, more than 400 industry authorities, local government departments, enterprises and institutions, as well as large Internet platforms, have provided identity authentication services free of charge, accessing more than 530 various apps, Mini Programs, and websites.

In the Internet field, WeChat, QQ, Weibo, Taobao, JD.com, Pinduoduo, Baidu, Kuaishou, Meituan, Didi, Xiaohongshu, Douyin and other major Internet platforms have realized Internet identity authentication with one click login, effectively enhancing the convenience of account use; WeChat, Xiaoyu, Youku, Tencent Video, Tencent News and others have applied in identity verification scenarios such as account security, further implementing real-name measures to solve the problem of real-name falsehood. In the process, the platform no longer obtains the real identity information of netizens, achieving the "real name does not appear."

In the field of government services, the national government service platform and 17 provincial and municipal government service applications, such as Beijing and Shandong, have been gradually integrated into the relevant government systems of the Central Bureau of Administration, the State Administration for Taxation, the State Market Regulatory Administration, and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. Internet users can prove their identity online and handle government matters.

In the financial services sector, the six major state-owned banks, namely, Ministry of Labor, Agriculture, China, Construction, Foreign Affairs, and Postal Service, as well as China Life Insurance, Head insurance agencies such as the Human Insurance Group have all connected to the national network identity authentication public service, which is used in business scenarios such as secure login, account management, identity verification at transaction time, and insurance verification to effectively ensure the security of funds.

In the field of medical treatment and health, the Beijing Union Hospital App has docked services, and patients can use it in registration, login, binding patients, modifying patients' information, and applying for medical records. The Xinjiang health insurance platform has also been launched. In the future, with the promotion of electronic health cards, it is expected to realize the interoperability and sharing of personal medical files across provinces and domains.

In addition, China Unicom, China Mobile mobile phone sales halls and some offline sales halls, postal mail real-name certification, online national network and other scenarios can use national network identity authentication public services to handle business.

According to reports, after the National Museum's appointment system was connected to the National Internet Identity Authentication Public Service, it effectively curbed the problem of "crowds" stealing and changing tickets through a strict account real-name mechanism, and the situation in the past "just after a ticket was issued was cleared by crowds," has improved significantly. The same scheme is also promoted in popular scenic spots such as Wutai Mountain. The "Playing Jingdezhen" Mini Program and the "Haihuan Hou State Scenic Spot" Mini Program have achieved anonymous ticket purchase and admission to the park, reducing the collection and retention of identity information of tourists.

Once the civil aviation passenger service system is connected, passengers no longer need to enter identification information when using network cards to order flights at pilot airlines. In the future, travelers who use online cards to buy tickets can even purchase tickets completely invisible to various airlines, achieving zero exposure of their identity information. To minimize the disclosure of personal information during the transit process and the use of wrongdoers to implement fraud activities such as "flight refund and change of tickets."

It is worth noting that the national registration system for civil service examinations, public service recruitment, and job title examinations have gradually integrated with the national network identity authentication public service. Candidates can complete the identity verification process from registration, login, and filling in information to examination of grades and information changes using a code and face recognition. At the root, the black industrial chain of "gunmen making substitute newspapers and offline exams" has been cracked, and the persistent diseases such as substitute papers, round-the-clock newspapers, and round-the examinations have nowhere to escape.

At present, the national online identity verification WeChat Mini Program has been launched, and the Alipay Mini Program is in development. The Ministry of Public Security is actively communicating with relevant departments of the railway. At present, some scenarios of railway 12306 have realized the use of the national network identity authentication public service to authenticate identity and handle business, and will gradually be extended to other scenarios.
