The Party's foundation lies in the people, and its strength comes from the people.

At the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), President Xi Jinping profoundly revealed the six outstanding qualities that make the CPC incomparable to other political parties and forces. One of these is "deeply rooted in the people, always possessing a solid foundation." From having only over 50 members at its inception to becoming the world's largest ruling party with more than 100 million members today, leading a major country of over 1.4 billion people and wielding significant global influence—if there is any secret code to the CPC's success, it must be related to two words: the people.

Popular support is the greatest politics. The future and destiny of a political party or regime ultimately depend on the will of the people. The people-oriented nature is an essential attribute of Marxism, and the people's stance is the fundamental political position of the CPC. The CPC was born for the people and thrives because of them. Based on this orientation, since its founding, the Party has regarded the people as heaven and mountains, as roots and sources, as masters and teachers, and has taken the people's interests as its starting point and ultimate goal, and their needs as the value orientation and driving force. For over a hundred years, our Party has been able to win the trust and support of the people precisely because it has done everything for the people; it has overcome countless difficulties and dangers and achieved continuous victories precisely because it relies entirely on the people.

The word "people" carries immense weight. "The people are our Party's greatest confidence," "The nation is the people, and the people are the nation," "Think what the people think, do what the people wish," "Making the people's lives happy is the top priority of the state," "I will have no self-interest, and I will live up to the people's expectations," "Always stand together, think together, and work together with the people"... Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, the Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core has adhered to a people-centered development philosophy, constantly thinking about the people, acting for the people, realizing, safeguarding, and developing the fundamental interests of the vast majority of the people, continuously inspiring the initiative, creativity, and enthusiasm of all the people, and writing a magnificent chapter of national prosperity, rejuvenation, and people's happiness.

For the military to win battles, the people are the mountain of support. Comrade Nie Rongzhen once recalled: "During the War of Resistance Against Japan, although we were surrounded and blockaded by the enemy, and even our headquarters was only a few dozen miles away from the enemy, despite many scenes of gunfire and battle, we felt a sense of security. In the ocean of the people, we were very safe!" No matter how far they go, the communist army never forgets: it was the people's cloth shoes that carried us across snow-capped mountains and grasslands; it was the milk of the "Red Sisters" that healed our wounds; it was the people's immense power that enabled us to win wars. History and practice have fully proven that popular sentiment, public opinion, and collective strength are the foundation and source of victory for the people's army; the people's trust, support, and love are its deep-rooted foundation and strong backing.

History has never favored any particular political party, nor has victory ever smiled upon any particular army. Whoever holds the people close to their heart, the people will hold them close to theirs. Risking bullets and shells to fight for the people; guarding peaceful times through selfless dedication; supporting local development by shouldering heavy burdens; stepping forward in times of great disasters and calamities... Wherever the people need them most, the soldiers appear; wherever conditions are toughest, the soldiers strive; wherever danger is greatest, the soldiers fight. In every act of perseverance and every charge, the vow "the people's army loves the people" is deeply engraved in the hearts of all officers and soldiers; the praise "the people love the people's army" sincerely expresses the sentiments of hundreds of millions of people.

"A powerful failure, because it separates itself from the people; a weak victory, because it stands with the people." Modern warfare is not only a contest between military systems but also a systemic confrontation based on the overall strength of nations. Whoever can maximize the systematic integration of a nation's overall strength will gain military competitive advantage. Our military is the people's army, and our national defense is the whole people's defense. No matter how the times evolve or how the forms of war change, the thinking of people's war will never become obsolete. The masses remain the profound foundation of strength for defeating enemies; creating and utilizing various favorable conditions remains a reliable path to victory; innovating and employing flexible strategies and tactics remains an effective method to overcome adversaries.

"As tall trees have deep roots in fertile soil / You are the earth giving me all care / Life goes on for the sake of that trust / Facing wind and rain to welcome a new dawn / You are my everything, my all / Longing for your longing, happy for your happiness..." Enjoying peace is the blessing of the people, while defending peace is the duty of the people's army. On the new journey of the new era, we must forever maintain a childlike heart toward the people, sink our roots deep into the fertile soil of the masses, always remember the sacred duty of carrying guns and fighting for the people, forever share blood ties, life-and-death bonds, and joys and hardships with the people, always breathe the same air, share the same fate, and keep our hearts connected with the people.
