On the 14th, the stage radio drama "Wen Yiduo" was performed at the Southwest Associated University campus of Yunnan Normal University on December 1st. The play takes the 80th anniversary of the martyrdom of Mr. Wen Yiduo as an opportunity to recreate the life trajectory and master style of this patriotic poet and democratic fighter through innovative stage forms.

The drama was created by Zhang Qi Studio, a renowned artist from Yunnan Province, and hosted by Yunnan Normal University. With a true historical context as its core, it focuses on Wen Yiduo's life journey from being a professor at Tsinghua University to teaching at Southwest Associated University, and ultimately growing into a staunch democratic fighter. The drama lasts about 90 minutes.

As an innovative literary form, this drama has created a new form of "visual radio drama, audible drama". The performance relies on dynamic projection to recreate historical scenes such as the classrooms of Southwest Associated University and the smoke filled streets of Kunming. It is accompanied by sound effects, lighting, and collective recitation to create an immersive historical atmosphere, combining reality and virtuality to recreate the years of war.

Zhang Qi, the chief director of the drama and the head of the Department of Language and Communication at Yunnan Normal University's School of Media, introduced that the stage radio drama brings the creative process of the radio drama from the recording studio to the stage. The audience can not only intuitively see the details of the creation, but also immerse themselves in the plot through sound.

To ensure historical authenticity, the creative team of the drama relied on the historical resources of Southwest Associated University from Yunnan Normal University for creation, and invited multiple historical experts to oversee the entire process. The script has been revised in dozens of versions, with details extracted from Wen Yiduo's letter collection and picture book. The costumes and scenes strictly adhere to historical facts. At the same time, artistic processing is added to the creation: starting with Wen Yiduo's emotional clues, the process of his conflict with his wife Gao Xiaozhen to getting to know each other is condensed, and through the content of the letter, his inner struggles when he left home for Yunnan are portrayed, making his "fighter" image more fiery.

Zhang Qi stated that the performance team of the drama is composed of teachers, students, and professional actors from the school, with most of the participating students being post-2000s. The production team guides young actors to immerse themselves in understanding history and shaping their characters through writing character biographies, studying historical materials, conducting on-site research at the school history museum, and reading scripts, completing the transformation from dialogue interpretation to spiritual inheritance.
