The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is approaching, and various preparatory work has entered the final sprint stage. Inside the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) exhibition hall, booth construction is progressing intensively, and exhibits from around the world are gradually arriving at the "Four Leaf Clover". Many interviewed companies have stated that the exhibition has been fully deployed and are working hard to complete the placement of exhibits to welcome the grand event.
On October 29th, Huang Ling, spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, stated that more than 480 representative innovative achievements will be showcased at this year's CIIE, with "global debut, Asian debut, and Chinese debut" reaching a new high in history, reflecting China's strong attractiveness as a global "innovation engine".
The reporter learned that these exhibits cover a number of cutting-edge achievements that empower industries and benefit people's livelihoods, such as split type endoscopic surgical robots, artificial cochlear implants that can detect sound 360 degrees, 6G terminal prototypes, water-based silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives, and water treatment systems that can synchronously soften and mineralize.
Behind the exhibits is the continuous leap in scale and level of the CIIE. According to data, this year's CIIE will have the participation of 162 countries, regions, and international organizations. The overall exhibition area has exceeded 440000 square meters for the first time, and the enterprise exhibition area has exceeded 370000 square meters for the first time. 4142 overseas enterprises will participate, making the number of enterprise exhibitions the highest in history.
From the perspective of exhibitors, the number of Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders has exceeded 300 for the first time, and nearly 200 companies and institutions have fully participated in the 9th CIIE; More than 2000 "new face" companies participated in the exhibition for the first time.
Both "new faces" and "full-time students" regard the CIIE as an important platform to showcase global innovation, connect with Chinese demand, and deepen industrial cooperation.
For example, among the first batch of exhibits to enter the exhibition hall at this year's CIIE, there is a brand new turning and milling composite machining center from WFL turning and milling technology company, which is about to make its "Asian debut". As the "new face" of this year's CIIE, Liu Yanxia, Chief Representative of WFL Beijing Representative Office, said that China occupies an important position in the global manufacturing map, and "we regard the CIIE and Shanghai as the core hub for expanding the Asia Pacific market.
At the CIIE, "Quanqin Sheng" Herbalife showcased the Asian debut of Bioniq GO and the global debut of the Chinese version of the health management digital platform. Cai Menghong, President of Herbalife China, said, "The CIIE is an important witness to the joint growth of Herbalife and the Chinese market. We not only achieved a leap from 'exhibits to commodities' here, but also upgraded from' exhibitors to investors'." She introduced that Herbalife's China Product Innovation Center in Shanghai has been upgraded to a global product innovation center, further strengthening the position of the Chinese market in the company's global innovation network.
Shanghai Deputy Mayor Lu Shan introduced that Shanghai has established a "6-day+365 day" year-round exhibition and sales mechanism. At present, Hongqiao Pinhui has gathered more than 120 countries, over 6000 brands, and 85000 products of the same type as Jinbo; Relying on the 8th China International Import Expo, Greenland Global Commodity Trade Port has promoted the first exhibition and store landing of more than 200 overseas brands in Shanghai; The online "365 Exhibition and Trade Network" enables buyers who cannot be present on site to connect.
More importantly, the market feedback brought by the launch of these new products has strengthened exhibitors' confidence in investing in China, "said Lu Shan. More and more exhibitors are shifting from" 6-day exhibitions "to" rooting themselves in China and increasing investment ": some have become investors from traders, creating an industrial model of" Chinese production and global supply "; Some have upgraded from serving the Chinese market to becoming global R&D regional centers, allowing Chinese innovation to feed back to the world.
