The first newly built fully automated container terminal in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, Guangzhou Port Nansha Port Phase IV Terminal, officially opened for foreign trade on the 29th.
On that day, the barge "Huijinqiao 168" loaded with the first foreign trade heavy container successfully docked for operation. The Guangzhou maritime department provided navigation safety services through on-site safety inspections, dynamic monitoring of water areas, and docking with port operation processes to ensure the safe and efficient completion of the unloading operation of the first foreign trade heavy container.
As a benchmark terminal for intelligent development in the Greater Bay Area, the fourth phase of the Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port has a designed annual throughput capacity of 4.9 million TEUs. The opening of foreign trade business this time marks the further improvement of container service functions in Nansha Port Area, and the full release of the port's foreign trade throughput capacity. According to calculations, after the full implementation of the port's foreign trade functions, the annual throughput of foreign trade containers can exceed 1 million standard containers, effectively driving the growth of foreign trade imports and exports in Nansha Port Area, continuously reducing logistics costs for enterprises in the Pearl River Delta, and stabilizing the resilience of regional supply chains and industrial chains.
To adapt to the new operation mode of automated terminals, the Guangzhou Maritime Department has tailored special regulatory service measures. On the one hand, opening up a green channel for ship clearance, relying on the "single window" of international trade to promote online pre examination services, implementing measures for priority entry and exit of ships, priority berthing and departure, and priority loading and unloading convenience, significantly reducing the waiting time and clearance time of ships; On the other hand, we will innovate the three-dimensional supervision mode, combine unmanned aerial vehicle cruise and electronic cruise, maintain the navigation order of the dock front water area 24/7, and accurately connect the automated operation system with the manual inspection process.
The fourth phase terminal of Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port will accurately meet the demands of domestic and foreign markets: efficiently undertake the customs clearance and transportation of high time and high value-added goods such as Southeast Asian fresh fruits and precision electronic components at the import end; The export end continues to open up channels for "Made in China" products such as household appliances, photovoltaic products, and new energy vehicle parts to go global, promoting the balanced improvement and steady expansion of import and export container volume in the port area.
